It is often called the &#8220;Hawaii of Korea&#8221;. A beautiful island with coral reefs that are quite different than I&#8217;ve ever seen. Also, I saw for the first time\u00a0<i>huge<\/i>\u00a0jellyfish; the kind you see in the Monterey Bay aquarium. Beautiful, but I made sure to keep my distance.<\/p>\n<p>The statue is a &#8220;stone grandfather&#8221;, a funny looking cultural artifact that are found around the island.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/haduken.ucsd.edu\/footpics\/jeju_foot.JPG\" width=\"250\" height=\"333\" \/><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/haduken.ucsd.edu\/footpics\/jeju_stone_grandfather_foot.JPG\" width=\"250\" height=\"333\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/haduken.ucsd.edu\/footpics\/jeju_diving_foot.jpg\" width=\"250\" height=\"333\" \/><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Jeju-do is an island off the southern part of the Korean Peninsula.
